August 26, 2007A weekend at the lake
Lake Anna is actually used as a cooling facility for a nuclear power plant so the water in most of the lake is warm and very comfortable to swim in. And believe it or not, but I actually got in the water! We had rafts, chairs and noodles to hang on to so I only touched the bottom once (even though the water was only 4-5 feet deep). Later that afternoon, after dropping some people off, the rest of us took turns being pulled on the jet ski shaped raft and Paul & I even dared to try water skiing. It's a lot tougher than it looks! I did pretty good keeping the skiis straight enough to stand up on, I just didn't have the arm strength to hold on to the bar very long. So I never did fully stand up, but I was told I had some great face-flops! Posted by Olivia at 10:14 PM | Comments (1) Find me in: Richmond Geeks August 26, 2007Fantastic customer service!
I went to Lane Bryant today at Virginia Center Commons mall to buy another pair of jeans in the exact same style and size as the pair I already have. When I walked in the store and was asked if I needed any help I told the salesperson exactly that. I fully expected her to ask all kinds of questions, but the only thing she said was 'what size?' I was completely shocked; she knew, just from looking at what I had on, the exact style. Even though this style is being discontinued and that store didn't have what I needed, she knew other stores would have some available, so she called around while I was trying on some other stuff and had the store in Mechanicsville hold a pair for me. It's so rare to find even decent customer service here in Richmond, but almost unheard of to find service that fantastic. So thank you to Jennifer at Lane Bryant for showing me people do still care in this crazy city. Posted by Olivia at 11:15 PM | Comments (0) Find me in: Chit Chat August 27, 2007A super-Sonic secret
Friday night Jeff and I went to Sonic and accidentally found out the magic ingredient in the Cherry Limeade we love so much. This time I told Jeff to make sure to specify both flavors, to see if it tasted any different. I think this confused the person taking our order, so Jeff told her we were doing an experiment. When our order was delivered, we told the girl our theory and this is when she divulged the secret ingredient to the 'limeade'......it's Sprite. Yup, that's right, good ole' Sprite. What a complete let down! Cherry Limeade will never be the same. Posted by Olivia at 9:00 AM | Comments (0) Find me in: Chit Chat
