Someone finally decided it would be a good thing to put a traffic light at the intersection of my office! Crews have been working for a couple weeks now, putting up the poles, the wires, the lights. And finally, today, it's operational, yay!! It was getting really ridiculous trying to turn left onto Parham; practically impossible most times. And it was dangerous for everyone, not to mention school buses from the middle school across the street. So yay, happy news!
In other work news, we've had to pull files for 2 different audits happening at the same time. Makes no sense. We even told the second group that we already had a ton of files pulled for the first one, so they may not get everything they ask for, but they were ok with that. None of mine ended up being duplicates, but now the filing cabinets are very bare. Well, not bare really, but they both took a lot of stuff!
We are getting ready to switch to PeopleSoft 8.0, for anyone who knows of PeopleSoft. It's been, and will continue to get more interesting. Every single community college in Virginia is switching from the client-based application to a web-based program. I can only imagine how slow it's all going to run. I'm just glad I don't have to deal directly with students who tend to get very impatient.
