As a former SunCom customer now being assimilated into the Cingular network I have joined the thousands of other customers who's old phones will no longer work on the Cingular network. Unfortunately, I didn't receive a letter telling me to come stand in a long line, I found out when Jeff tried to call me last night.

He said he tried several times and kept getting a message about the number not being correct. And anytime I tried to dial out, I would get a recording about Cingular's Sales Office hours. So I called this morning. Actually, I just tried calling Jeff because I hadn't written down the number, and I spoke to a nice young lady who informed me I would have to get a new phone.

I politely responded with, "but I never got a letter, and I just bought this phone and was not told it wouldn't work in a few months."

To which she replied, "Sorry, we sent out thousands of letters and it's been on the news."

So. There it is. Until further notice I can no longer be reached by cell phone.
