Kilauea Lighthouse

Our early bedtime allowed for an early start on Sunday since we were all awake by 7am. Our first order of business was to book a helicopter tour. Luckily we were able to snag a spot that very afternoon. So we packed some lunch and headed north to see the beach a little.

Kilauea Lighthouse was first on the list. The view of the coast/mountains is just amazing. We got some really great pictures from there. A little further around the island was our lunching spot, Hanalei Bay. If I were even lucky enough to be able to live here, Hanalei is the place. It's so gorgeous. A little shopping at the stores in Hanalei and we headed back to the airport to Air Kauai.

061503-Helicopter ride

I was lucky enough to get a window seat on the hour long helicopter flight. That was one of the most amazing things I've even done. Just being in a helicopter for the first time was pretty cool, but the view...wow. The flight itself was pretty smooth; I did get a little queasy when we headed towards the coast, but it wasn't too bad.

And it wouldn't be a vacation without a trip to Wal-Mart! Dinner at The Shack officially ended the evening.
