July 19, 2002Friday Five 07/19/021. Where were you born? Florence, SC 2. If you still live there, where would you rather move to? If you don't live there, do you want to move back? Why or why not? I don't live there, and no, I don't want to move back. I don't know anyone there and it's a smaller town than I like being in. Plus, I don't remember ever living there, so I have no emotional ties. 3. Where in the world do you feel the safest? No place is absolutely safe. 4. Do you feel you are well-traveled? I've done my fair share. I guess being a military brat has it's advantages! 5. Where is the most interesting place you've been? They're all interesting in their own way. Each place offers a different culture and customs to learn about.

1. Where were you born? Born in Springfield, VA. Two years later, we moved to Vienna, VA. 2. If you still live there, where would you rather move to? If you don't live there, do you want to move back? Why or why not? I do still live there. I'd rather be in Montana. Richmond would be kinda cool too. :) 3. Where in the world do you feel the safest? Wherever I am. That's not said to be self-righteous, it's just that other people who get paranoid unecessarily do not make me feel safe. I feel the most safe when I'm alone, since I have direct control over what happens. And, I feel even more secure when I don't have to protect the safety of anyone else, which usually takes priority over my own safety. 4. Do you feel you are well-traveled? Yes. Still on my list: the Alps, the remains of Ancient Egypt, Rome (including Vatican City), Hollywood, Seattle, Wyoming, and maybe Scotland/Ireland 5. Where is the most interesting place you've been? Four hours North of Quebec, lies a popular river known as the St. Lawrence. An hour from town (40 minutes by car, 20 minutes by boat) lies an island where I spent two weeks as a teenager. The island (owned by the Queen of England) is so pure and untouched that the locals can walk into the water and drink when they're thirsty. The fish there grow from 2-3 feet long, and of course there's the ususal variety of natural animals. I saw raccoons, moose, bears, squirrels, birds (the loons rock) and turtles of all shapes and sizes. And when I go to my "happy place," I think about the first morning I spent there after waking from a rough night of hiking, looking over the still water with the fog rising. And the midget with his mask on, riding the broomstick horse. And my grandmother, winning the lottery. And Gene Simmons... And women in lingerie. Lots of them. I thought you'd say Hawaii or maybe Vermont. I would definitely say HAWAII. Posted by: Mom P. on July 19, 2002 9:11 PM1. Where were you born? Bethlehem, PA (The Christmas City) 2. If you still live there, where would you rather move to? If you don't live there, do you want to move back? Why or why not? Nope - don't wanna move back. I lived there for 18 years - there are too many other places on this planet to see and visit and live. 3. Where in the world do you feel the safest? I don't think about issues like safety. I guess my attitude is similar to Brian's comment about feeling like one is in control of one's actions/whereabouts/etc. 4. Do you feel you are well-traveled? Absolutely not! The furthest west I've been is Atlanta, for cryin' out loud! Yes - west! 5. Where is the most interesting place you've been? Southern Exposure - just across the West Virginia-Virginia border, near Bluefield. :) Posted by: Top on July 22, 2002 11:43 AMPost a comment
