August 5, 2002Monday Mission 8/5/021. Ever considered just deleting your Blog and not doing it anymore? What prompted that and what stopped you? Not deleting it, but just not doing it anymore. I just lose motivation to write anything. 2. How about a quick review of the last movie you saw? Not Another Teen Movie this weekend; had it's funny moments for sure, but not the most brain stimulating movie of all time :) 3. What's your favorite gadget? Are you lusting for any new ones? Will you ever be satisified??? Gadets don't really affect me the way they do other people. I'm more interested in decorative objects and craft things. 4. What "table game" do you enjoy playing most with other people? Have you played it lately? I enjoy a lot of different games; my family played a lot of board games when Iwas growing up, and I'm not sure I can pick a favorite. 5. Have you ever been obsessed with something so much that it was close to causing you physical or mental harm? If not, have you known anyone else who has? Umm..no. 6. Did you grow up in a family or community that displayed racist or prejudice attitudes? Did it influence you in any way, either toward or away from those views? How did you manage to avoid it, or did you? No again. Growing up in a military family gave me the opportunity to live in many different places and meet many different types of people. I think it was a huge influence in how I view other people and in being open minded about everyone. 7. Good grief, I am starving! You got anything to eat around here? How 'bout some pie? BONUS: What did you tell them? Who did I tell what? And why?

1. Ever considered just deleting your Blog and not doing it anymore? What prompted that and what stopped you? Well, since my blog hasn't officially even started yet, I think it's going to be awhile before I get sick of it. 2. How about a quick review of the last movie you saw? Well, the rest of the gang Friday night missed it, but yesterday evening after dinner I sat down and watched the Mothman Prophecies seeing as Mike wasn't interested and off playing his video games....anyway, it was an interesting story, but I think actually reading about the true story would be more intriguing than the movie.....it was kind of slow in terms of developing the story, with a few scary moments; the ending was the best part, without that, I would have wanted those 2 hours of my life back. Bottom Line: Chris,Olivia,Jeff,Branda, be glad you didn't stick around for it! 3. What's your favorite gadget? Are you lusting for any new ones? Will you ever be satisified??? Right now my fave gadget is my Pampered Chef Food Chopper. This thing kicks ass and I've been purposely cooking stuff that requires something to be "chopped" because it is so much fun doing it! Believe me, if you had one of these things you'd know what I was talking about! Next gadget will be that gun that you can shoot out cookie dough and make designs with icing! 4. What "table game" do you enjoy playing most with other people? Have you played it lately? Lately my friends and I have been playing Scattergories which can be a blast simply because you can challenge anything someone chooses as an answer, then let the trash talking/brawling begin. I love interactive games that allow creativity. 5. Have you ever been obsessed with something so much that it was close to causing you physical or mental harm? If not, have you known anyone else who has? hmmmmmm, sorry to say (not really) that I haven't had one of those "After School Special" moments in my life. 6. Did you grow up in a family or community that displayed racist or prejudice attitudes? Did it influence you in any way, either toward or away from those views? How did you manage to avoid it, or did you? My childhood neighborhood was very small, and 99.9% white upper middle class. Most of the ladies living there were gossipy old biddies and that hasn't really changed much. When a black family first moved in, sure people talked about it, and I thought that was pretty shitty. I am so anti-prejudice against anyone that my shallow neighborhood community could do nothing to penetrate that, and I was glad when I finally got out of there. Though I have to say the worst was when my family first started the "process" of their divorce; we were maybe the 3rd family in the neighborhood to get divorced and it was horrible the way people talked about us, even the kids teased me like I had done something wrong. I swear that place is like a freaky time warp. 7. Good grief, I am starving! You got anything to eat around here? Actually, tonight I made a Hearty Six-Can Chili BONUS: What did you tell them? Damn bonus questions..... Posted by: Lauren on August 5, 2002 10:08 PM1. Ever considered just deleting your Blog and not doing it anymore? What prompted that and what stopped you? Not really, no. I've considered going postal on my hosting company though! 2. How about a quick review of the last movie you saw? I watched Star Trek: First Contact for the millionth time, this past Sunday. I own it, I watch it more than I should, so therefore you can tell that I give it the big ol' thumbs-up. 3. What's your favorite gadget? Are you lusting for any new ones? Will you ever be satisified??? I don't know if this can be considered a 'gadget', but I love my relatively newly purchased cable modem. Bye bye, dial-up! 4. What "table game" do you enjoy playing most with other people? Have you played it lately? Lately, I'm going to have to go with Scattergories, along with Lolo. Edlin's hamster says, "Pootie-too!" 5. Have you ever been obsessed with something so much that it was close to causing you physical or mental harm? If not, have you known anyone else who has? Not really, no. Although, when my most recent girlfriend broke-up with me, I had this crazy abdominal pain for about a day. I think it was just a gassy coincidence though. Ha! 6. Did you grow up in a family or community that displayed racist or prejudice attitudes? Did it influence you in any way, either toward or away from those views? How did you manage to avoid it, or did you? My entire family hates white people. ;) I, myself, hate people in general - no matter what their ethnicity. Baaaahhhhhhnnnnnggg!!!! 7. Good grief, I am starving! You got anything to eat around here? One knuckle sandwich, with PromoGuy's name on it! BONUS: What did you tell them? I didn't tell 'em anything - just burped a lot, that's all. Posted by: Top on August 6, 2002 3:57 PM1. Ever considered just deleting your Blog and not doing it anymore? What prompted that and what stopped you? I see those as two separate questions, so I'll answer them both: Yes, I've considered deleting my blog. It's impossible to come up with something new to talk about with a stranger when they've read everything I've done for the past two years. I imagine when I start dating, I will remove the blog from the web (or at least move it to a private area) so that I'll have something to talk about. Yes, I've considered not doing it anymore. I'm starting to really want to live life, and get away from my computer. I find right now that the only advantage to my nightly blogging is that I get to hear from my friends, almost on a daily basis. I don't think the blog will see 2003. At least not daily. 2. How about a quick review of the last movie you saw? Next Stop: Wonderland is a cute lil' romantic comedy about fate, and what it means to be single in a big city, surrounded by people, yet alone. I loved it. I watched it again when it was done. 3. What's your favorite gadget? Are you lusting for any new ones? Will you ever be satisified??? My laptop is probably the only gadget I still use. It's not my favorite- it's just a means to an end. I just use it to get online. Hmm.. Oh! I know! My favorite gadget is the wireless router, which lets me surf around the house. That's my favorite gadget. 4. What "table game" do you enjoy playing most with other people? Have you played it lately? Scattegories. It's a no-brainer, yet you need brains. Lots of fun with the whole gang too. 5. Have you ever been obsessed with something so much that it was close to causing you physical or mental harm? If not, have you known anyone else who has? Yup. Sure have. But I never think that drugs are the answer. Anytime I have weird thoughts, I follow them up with a "dude, that's stupid" thought, and they go away quickly. :) See? You don't need drugs. Just discipline. 6. Did you grow up in a family or community that displayed racist or prejudice attitudes? Did it influence you in any way, either toward or away from those views? How did you manage to avoid it, or did you? The only prejudice attitude in my house was towards other religions. It affected me greatly. I did away with that kind of thinking a long time ago. Now, the only religions I hate are the ones that (A) Think they're the best and only and (B) Insist on killing others to "prove" it. 7. Good grief, I am starving! You got anything to eat around here? Sure do. I'm on my way to Baja Fresh. If you've got some cash, I'll get you something. I'm not buying your lunch. Again, you're a dude. BONUS: What did you tell them? I told them that new Secret Arid Dry anti-persperant is strong enough for a man, but made for a woman. Posted by: PeeR on August 7, 2002 11:37 AMPost a comment
