August 7, 2002What was I going to say?

You know, a couple of days ago I had all these ideas about stuff to write about. But 2 hours later, when I finally got a chance to sit down and type, I had gone completely blank. I'm still not sure what I was thinking about.

Work has been about the same lately. I'm struggling to find things to do most days. It's hard to do your job when everything you do is dependant on other people having their shit together. Oh well.

The house is coming along..I went out there yesterday when Jeff was at his XMug meeting, but not much progress since Monday. I can't wait until they start on the framing. Buildings C, D, & Q are on still being worked on; most units don't even have drywall up yet. I guess once that is done, they'll start in on ours.

Sunday, after sleeping in, Jeff made waffles while I searched for Gizmo's mice. (Toy mice of course) The waffles were so yummy, Jeff did a good job. Now if I could get him to cook every meal! Thanks to the Pollards for the waffle maker!! Now all we need is to get some cherry topping stuff, so it'll feel like we're back in Radford again.

After spending Saturday at the pool, Jeff & I decided to do a little shopping on Sunday. Home Depot had one of the ceiling fans we had been looking at in the sale paper. After comparing it to a similar one at Target, we went with the Home Depot fans. Good thing! They ended up being 20% off the sale price! After browsing though Bed, Bath & Beyond and Linens N Things, we saw some bar stools we liked. Monday we checked our BB&B, and went ahead and bought them since I had two 20% coupons. I know, I know, it's just more to move, but since everything was on sale might as well!

Oh look, it's lunchtime! Mmmmm...

I agree with you Olivia. Get things while they're cheaper. This "collecting" process also saves you both from spending too much in those first few months of full house payments. It's a given that you'll likely be spending a lot on house stuff, so getting stuff now is almost like distributed purchasing. :)

This is totally unrelated, but I wanted to share this story with ya. Here goes:

A man's dog was very sick and unresponsive so he rushed him to the Vet. The Vet took one look at the dog a said "I'm sorry your dog is dead". The man was very upset and insisted that the Vet do something. The Vet said I'm sorry there is nothing I can do, your dog is dead! The man was adament He insisted that the vet do something because he really loved that dog. So the Vet said he would try. He brought in a Labrador Retriever and the Lab circled around the dead dog a few times but nothing happened, the dead dog just lay there. Next the Vet brought in a cat. The cat sniffed the dead dog and calmly walked out of the room. The Vet said that's all I can do. Your dog is dead. Please pay $500 for my services.

The dog owner was incredulos and said $500 dollars for what? Telling me my dog was dead?

The vet said yes, but it also included the Lab work and the cat scan.

Aww, c'mon. You know you loved it.

Here's another one to get your day goin':

A neutron walks into a bar. He takes a seat and before he can order his drink, the bartender slides him the tallest mug of the finest brew.

"Wow!" the neutron exclaimed, "Thanks, Mister. What do I owe ya?"

The bartender looked up and winked. "For you... no charge."
