February 20, 2003A most productive day..and then taxes

Ever have those days where everything goes smoothly, you're energetic and productive?

Well I had that yesterday. I woke up with enough time to do something with my hair and fix lunch AND make it to work on time! And once I was at work, I kicked ass all day long. I must have filed at least 100 papers, paid a massive stack of invoices, and just did some major cleaning up. It was a good day.

And then I came home. And did my taxes.

For someone who works in Accounting I sure have absolutely no patience for doing taxes. I hate the idea of them, I hate the process in doing them, I hate the results after doing them (it's never that wonderful). I guess the only good thing so far is that I've never had to pay (Thanks to Mrs. P last year!)

As Jeff mentioned, we had to figure out what do to with the house. While I was debating whether or not to even deal with it last night, Jeff went ahead and started figuring it up with him claiming the house. So I did mine without, and then with. Less that $200 difference. I have no idea what his would have been without, but I guess it doesn't matter.

In a weird way I feel cheated. It's my house too, damnit! But I suppose the good thing is I didn't have to bother with all that interest and points and insurance crap. :) Maybe next year.

I did mine today too. I drove over to my accountant. Handed him all my forms. Told him all my deductions. Then left his office. Well worth the $150 (which is deductable the next year)! I used to do them myself, but when he saved me thousands of dollars I ok you do them.

I didn't know you could deduct the accountant's fees the following year, that's good info, Eric! I need to do my taxes, too.

I was going to use H&R Block like I did last year, but I think I'm going to use the website that you did, Olivia. It's cheaper and it sounds pretty user-friendly.
